Do We Know How Lonely We Are?

It makes sense that the appearances of friendship goods (social media etc) would attract us but because it is a more superficial type of communication the human need goes on less fulfilled.

One person I knew from college I remember telling me that while he works he prefers to leave the TV on in the background because it made him feel like someone else is in the room and he is not working alone.
