My comments are in <b><span style=\"color: blue\">blue<\/span><\/b> and emphasis in <b>bold<\/b>:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"tr_bq\">\n<h2 class=\"entry-title\">  Villanova Cancels Invitation to Radical Gay Rights Performer Who Blames Catholic&nbsp;Blogs<\/h2>\n<div class=\"entry-content\" style=\"background-color: white;font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size: 12px\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.catholiconnection.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/blogger\/-4yG7NZY-cTI\/T0PJs6RUcNI\/AAAAAAACBlQ\/XB619DxEcmY\/s1600\/images%2B%282%29.jpg\" style=\"clear: right;float: right;margin-bottom: 1em;margin-left: 1em\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" height=\"149\" src=\"http:\/\/www.catholiconnection.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/blogger\/-4yG7NZY-cTI\/T0PJs6RUcNI\/AAAAAAACBlQ\/XB619DxEcmY\/s200\/images%2B%282%29.jpg\" width=\"200\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<div style=\"color: #484848;font-size: 10.5pt;line-height: 15pt;margin-bottom: 10.5pt;padding-bottom: 0px;padding-left: 0px;padding-right: 0px;padding-top: 0px\">Following a report by The Cardinal Newman Society, Villanova University, a Roman Catholic Augustinian University outside Philadelphia,&nbsp;has now cancelled the invitation to a militant gay rights performance artist who had been asked to be an artist in residence this April&nbsp;and lead&nbsp;workshops for students.<\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #484848;font-size: 10.5pt;line-height: 15pt;margin-bottom: 10.5pt;padding-bottom: 0px;padding-left: 0px;padding-right: 0px;padding-top: 0px\">The school released a statement announcing that Tim Miller, a pro-abortion rights and pro-gay marriage&nbsp;performance artist who often appears nude on stage, would not be hosting a week-long workshop on campus in April.<\/div>\n<blockquote>\n<div style=\"font-size: 10.5pt;line-height: 15pt;margin-bottom: 10.5pt;padding-bottom: 0px;padding-left: 0px;padding-right: 0px;padding-top: 0px\"><span style=\"color: #484848\">\u201cVillanova University embraces intellectual freedom and academic discourse. Indeed, it is at the very heart of our University and our Augustinian Catholic intellectual tradition. With regard to the forthcoming residency and performance workshops by Tim Miller, we had concerns that his performances were not in keeping with our Catholic and Augustinian values and mission. <\/span><span style=\"color: blue\"><b>[Well let&#039;s just be direct and say they aren&#039;t.]<\/b><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"font-size: 10.5pt;line-height: 15pt;margin-bottom: 10.5pt;padding-bottom: 0px;padding-left: 0px;padding-right: 0px;padding-top: 0px\"><span style=\"color: #484848\">\u201cTherefore, Villanova has decided not to host Mr. Miller on our campus. Villanova University is an open and inclusive community and in no way does this singular decision change that.\u201d <\/span><b><span style=\"color: blue\">[Notice the fear of being harrassed about not being inclusive. That is about the worst thing a university can be accused of these days it appears.]<\/span><\/b><\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div style=\"color: #484848;font-size: 10.5pt;line-height: 15pt;margin-bottom: 10.5pt;padding-bottom: 0px;padding-left: 0px;padding-right: 0px;padding-top: 0px\">As The Cardinal Newman Society reported,&nbsp;Miller, according to&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/Tim-Miller\/126950844014603\" style=\"color: #771515\">Facebook<\/a>, sued the National Endowment for the Arts for pulling a grant due to his obscene \u201cart,\u201d he\u2019s been <b>arrested dozens of times<\/b>, is a very public advocate of gay marriage and abortion rights, and is a member of the anti-Catholic&nbsp;group ACT UP&nbsp;which once sent protesters to interrupt Sunday mass at St. Patrick\u2019s Cathedral in New York and desecrated the Eucharist, according to&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/1990\/01\/03\/nyregion\/rude-rash-effective-act-up-shifts-aids-policy.html?pagewanted=all&amp;src=pm\" style=\"color: #771515\">The New York Times<\/a>.<\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #484848;font-size: 10.5pt;line-height: 15pt;margin-bottom: 10.5pt;padding-bottom: 0px;padding-left: 0px;padding-right: 0px;padding-top: 0px\">Far from renouncing his membership in ACT UP after that 1989 incident, Miller remains a member of ACT UP, according to Facebook, and even called the group\u2019s confrontational tactics,&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/books.google.com\/books?id=90xQD-Gl0SMC&amp;pg=PR14&amp;lpg=PR14&amp;dq=tim+miller+performance+artist+%22the+single+most+influential+thing+in+my+life.%22&amp;source=bl&amp;ots=DZAUxpt_C-&amp;sig=TB816gcvD0OuYhMcGivw9k2OawE&amp;hl=en&amp;sa=X&amp;ei=mxIwT7naGYyt0AGpnrniCg&amp;ved=0CC0Q6AEwAQ#v=onepage&amp;q=tim%20miller%20performance%20artist%20%22the%20single%20most%20influential%20thing%20in%20my%20life.%22&amp;f=false\" style=\"color: #771515\">\u201cthe single most influential thing in my life.<\/a>\u201c<\/div>\n<div style=\"font-size: 10.5pt;line-height: 15pt;margin-bottom: 10.5pt;padding-bottom: 0px;padding-left: 0px;padding-right: 0px;padding-top: 0px\"><span style=\"color: #484848\">Miller\u2019s \u201cart\u201d has reportedly included simulating intercourse and lewdly exposing his naked body.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><b><span style=\"color: #484848\">Has has criticized the \u201chideous religious baggage\u201d that Americans have and said laws defending traditional marriage are \u201cright out of the Third Reich.\u201d <\/span><span style=\"color: blue\">[Perfect. Let&#039;s invite him to our Catholic university.]<\/span><\/b><\/div>\n<div style=\"font-size: 10.5pt;line-height: 15pt;margin-bottom: 10.5pt;padding-bottom: 0px;padding-left: 0px;padding-right: 0px;padding-top: 0px\"><span style=\"color: #484848\">Miller responded to the&nbsp;cancelled invitation&nbsp;from Villanova in<a href=\"http:\/\/articles.philly.com\/2012-02-20\/news\/31079913_1_workshop-tim-miller-performance\" style=\"color: #771515\">&nbsp;news reports<\/a>&nbsp;by blaming Catholic blogs <\/span><span style=\"color: blue\"><b>[Good work.]<\/b><\/span><span style=\"color: #484848\">, saying that&nbsp;they were spreading \u201cthis bizarre lie that I\u2019m anti-Catholic <\/span><b><span style=\"color: blue\">[Wait I thought we were part of the Nazi party?]<\/span><\/b><span style=\"color: #484848\">\u2026 People tell these lies and it gets people who read these blogs worked up.\u201d <\/span><span style=\"color: blue\"><b>[No&#8230;it doesn&#039;t merely get them worked up. It makes them informed and outraged. So the outrage is due to nothing&#8230;I mean there&#039;s absolutely no reason people should be angry, is that what you are saying?]<\/b><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"font-size: 10.5pt;line-height: 15pt;margin-bottom: 10.5pt;padding-bottom: 0px;padding-left: 0px;padding-right: 0px;padding-top: 0px\"><span style=\"color: #484848\">\u201cTimes have changed,\u201d he reportedly said. \u201cWe\u2019re in a much more coercive, censorious time.\u201d <\/span><b><span style=\"color: blue\">[Really? Compared to when? The middle ages or Third Reich?
