{"id":14539,"date":"2015-05-27T11:54:18","date_gmt":"2015-05-27T16:54:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jh.southloophvac.com\/?p=14539"},"modified":"2015-05-27T11:54:18","modified_gmt":"2015-05-27T16:54:18","slug":"new-direction","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jonhaines.com\/philosophy\/new-direction\/","title":{"rendered":"I&#8217;m Moving To Houston &#8211; Starting at the Center for Thomistic Studies in Fall 2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In April of this year\u00a0I was accepted to pursue doctoral studies at the only school I wanted to attend &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stthom.edu\/Academics\/Centers_of_Excellence\/Center_for_Thomistic_Studies\/Index.aqf\">The Center for Thomistic Studies<\/a> in Houston, USA. I looked into the Angelicum (Rome), Leuven (Belgium) and others, but this program is one-of-a-kind uniquely focused in St. Thomas Aquinas &#8211; so I&#8217;m picking up where my interests left off in studies at Franciscan with the goal of teaching\u00a0in a university.<\/p>\n<p>Chicago will remain my home away from home (Columbus Ohio) but I&#8217;m sure Houston will have much to offer as well. I will be posting about my adventures here so please <a href=\"http:\/\/eepurl.com\/_GR5n\">get on my\u00a0email list<\/a> to stay in touch easily. Thankfully technology makes it easier, but I will miss you all in Chicago.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll be heading down in the heat of early August&#8230;should I bring a six-gun? Who all&#8217;s from Texas or Houston?
