Thessaloniki and Home
I slept on the train for the first time in a while and we got to Thessaloniki. We left the train station and, according to custom, immediately began exploring. We found out the stop and bus we needed to get to the airport and then headed towards the great white castle, though not knowing it. We just kept walking down random streets and though industrial parks. I was looking for something to eat but everything was closed or super expensive. There was a lot of grafitti in the section we travelled through and then finally a main road on which we walked the opposite side of a historical monuments. The others didnt seem to care. Once we got within sight of the castle we started heading back and I walked on the opposite side to see what the monument was and then connected back up with them. We got to the bus stop and waited for our bus which seemed to be taking forever. We were worried we woudl be late for our plane and JP was considering getting a taxi. John Paul was trying to grab a taxi when finally the bus came. We got on, got to the airport, in which there was a neat little greek orthodox chapel all decked out and then we finally boarded our plane to Vienna and thats how our 10 day ended. Upon arriving in Vienna we attempted to arrive at Pochlarn and we did but because our flight took much longer than expected and was delayed, we arrive out of time and missed the last train into Gaming. We stood in the train station for about an hour and a half looking for a taxi or other ride back somehow. Finally we got in touch with someone back at the Kartause that called a taxi service that he knew would help us out. They came for us, after many other people wanting to help us but not being able to, and gave us a ride back to the Kartause that ended up costing us each 30 Euro once it was divided amongst ourselves. We didn’t care at that point and went in, I shoured and went to bed.
